What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Noodles & Company Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain insurance policies as specified by Noodles & Company in its Operations Manual. While Noodles & Company dictates the types and amounts of coverage franchisees must carry, the franchisee is ultimately responsible for procuring and maintaining the required insurance.

Specifically, franchisees must furnish Noodles & Company with evidence of insurance coverage and premium payments before opening their restaurant and annually thereafter. If a franchisee fails to maintain the required insurance, Noodles & Company has the option to obtain the insurance on the franchisee's behalf, and the franchisee must then cooperate and pay for the costs and premiums incurred by Noodles & Company.

Noodles & Company also retains the right to work with the franchisee's insurance carrier to reach terms and provide a defense in the event of a claim, provided it does not jeopardize Noodles & Company's rights, defenses, brand, or other restaurants. However, the franchisee's obligation to maintain insurance coverage is not diminished by any separate insurance Noodles & Company may choose to maintain.
