What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Noodles & Company Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for all compensation and expenses incurred by themselves and their personnel when attending any training programs. These expenses include travel, meals, lodging, and fully-burdened salaries and expenses for the days or hours of training.

Noodles & Company may require the franchisee, their Operating Partner, and restaurant management personnel to attend and successfully complete periodic or additional training programs. This additional training may be requested by the franchisee or deemed necessary by Noodles & Company for reasons such as retraining, new product roll-outs, or new equipment usage. The cost for this additional training will be set forth in the then-current Operations Manual.

The FDD states that the franchisee must immediately replace any individual who fails to successfully complete any training program. The scheduling, content, and duration of Noodles & Company's training programs are at their discretion, and they reserve the right to modify such training, including the materials, equipment, and support used.

This means that franchisees must budget not only for the initial training of new personnel but also for ongoing training and potential replacement costs if personnel do not meet the required standards. This could represent a significant and ongoing expense for the franchisee.
