What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Noodles & Company's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to adhere to the company's approved menu. Specifically, franchisees are prohibited from selling products not included on the approved Noodles & Company menu and must serve the entire approved menu. This requirement ensures uniformity across all Noodles & Company locations, maintaining brand consistency and customer expectations.
However, there is a provision for potential exceptions. A Noodles & Company franchisee may be allowed to offer an alternative menu if they receive written approval from Noodles & Company. This suggests that while adherence to the standard menu is the norm, there is a mechanism for franchisees to propose variations, potentially to cater to local tastes or dietary preferences, subject to corporate approval.
Failure to comply with the menu standards outlined in the franchise agreement constitutes a material breach, which could lead to default. This underscores the importance Noodles & Company places on menu consistency and adherence to brand standards. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider this requirement and any potential limitations it may impose on their ability to customize their offerings.
