What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Mrcool's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Mrcool has the right to modify the equipment used in the franchise system. The FDD states that the Mrcool franchise system includes distinctive trade dress, service offerings, business formats, equipment, products, supplies, operating procedures, programs, methods, procedures, and marketing and advertising standards. Mrcool retains the right to modify all of these elements from time to time.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that Mrcool can change the required equipment, products, and operating procedures at any time. These modifications could affect the franchisee's costs, operations, and potentially their profitability. It is important to note that the FDD does not specify any limitations or guidelines regarding how often or how significantly Mrcool can make these modifications.
This ability to modify the system is a fairly standard practice in franchising, allowing franchisors to adapt to changing market conditions, improve efficiency, and maintain brand consistency. However, it also introduces a degree of uncertainty for franchisees, who must be prepared to adapt to these changes. A prospective franchisee should inquire about the typical frequency and scope of system modifications and how Mrcool supports franchisees in implementing these changes.
