What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Mr. Sandless's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Mr. Sandless retains the right to modify or terminate the use of any mark, name, symbol, or other corporate identification. If Mr. Sandless makes such changes, franchisees are obligated to conform to the new branding at their own expense.
This means that a Mr. Sandless franchisee may be required to update signage, marketing materials, and other branded items to reflect any changes made by the company. The franchisee is solely responsible for covering these costs, and Mr. Sandless is not required to provide any reimbursement for these expenses.
This is a fairly standard clause in franchise agreements, as franchisors need the flexibility to update their branding to stay current with market trends or to address legal concerns. However, it's important for prospective franchisees to understand that these changes can represent an unanticipated expense, and they should factor this potential cost into their financial planning. Franchisees should inquire about how often Mr. Sandless has changed their branding in the past and what costs were associated with those changes.
