What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Mr. Sandless's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company provides tuition-free training for up to three people in its initial training program. This includes the franchisee (if an individual) or at least one principal (if the franchisee is a corporation, partnership, or limited liability company), the Designated Manager (if any), and the Technical Manager (if any).
This initial training is required and must be completed within 60 days of the franchise agreement's effective date, before the Mr. Sandless business opens. The training takes place at Mr. Sandless headquarters in Aston, Pennsylvania, or another designated location, and includes a brief phone sales class and color test. The program lasts between two and five days, combining classroom instruction with hands-on experience.
While the tuition is free for the specified individuals, the franchisee is responsible for all other training-related expenses. These expenses include travel to and from the training site, lodging for additional attendees beyond the three covered by tuition, dining, and employee salaries. Any additional or replacement Designated Managers or Technical Managers must also attend and successfully complete the training program at the franchisee's expense, including tuition at the then-current rate.
