When does the initial Mr. Sandless franchise term expire?

According to Mr. Sandless's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise term begins on the effective date specified in the Data Sheet and extends until midnight on the tenth anniversary of that effective date. This means a franchisee will operate under the initial agreement for a decade, assuming the agreement is not terminated earlier.

At the end of the initial term, the franchisee has the option to enter into a Successor Franchise Agreement, provided they meet certain conditions. These conditions include compliance with the existing agreement's terms, satisfaction of all financial obligations to Mr. Sandless and its affiliates, and adherence to the brand's operating standards throughout the initial term.

To renew, the franchisee must provide written notice of their intention to renew at least 90 days, but no more than 180 days, before the current term expires. They also need to ensure they have the right to remain in possession of the business premises or secure an alternative location acceptable to Mr. Sandless. Furthermore, franchisees may be required to update their services, equipment, or business system to reflect the current Mr. Sandless image at their own expense. The Successor Franchise Agreement may also include different terms, such as higher royalty and advertising fees.
