Before opening a Mr. Sandless business, the franchisee must satisfactorily complete the training program, including a brief phone sales class and short color test. The Designated Manager and Technical Manager must also successfully complete the training program before assuming managerial responsibilities. The initial training program lasts approximately 2 to 5 days and takes place at the Mr. Sandless headquarters in Aston, Pennsylvania, or with a franchisee of their choosing.

Mr. Sandless does not charge tuition for the franchisee, Designated Manager, and Technical Manager (up to three trainees) to attend the initial training program. However, the franchisee is responsible for covering all expenses incurred during training, such as lodging for additional trainees, travel, transportation, and meals.
