What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Mr. Sandless Franchise Disclosure Document, abandonment of the business is grounds for termination of the franchise agreement.

Upon termination of the Mr. Sandless franchise, the franchisee has several obligations. They must pay all monies due to Mr. Sandless, immediately stop using Mr. Sandless's proprietary marks, and cancel or transfer all registrations and phone numbers associated with the "Mr. Sandless" name. The franchisee is also required to return the Operations Manual and all Confidential Information to Mr. Sandless.

Additionally, the franchisee must maintain their books and records for at least one year following termination and provide Mr. Sandless with a list of employees and employee files. The franchisee must continue to adhere to non-competition and confidentiality obligations, and sign any documents necessary to finalize the termination. These post-termination obligations are fairly standard in the franchise industry to protect the brand and ensure a smooth transition.
