Who bears the cost of inspections conducted by Mr. Sandless, and are there any exceptions?

Mr_Sandless Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

We may periodically assist franchises to maintain high quality standards through customer surveys, customer interviews, and other similar initiatives ("Surveys").

The cost of such programs will be borne by the Advertising Fund.

The cost of these programs may be charged directly to you if your results of a Survey fall below System established minimum standards for such Surveys.

Any such fees charged will be contributed to the Advertising Fund.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Mr. Sandless's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the cost of maintaining high-quality standards through customer surveys and interviews, referred to as "Surveys," is generally covered by the Advertising Fund. This means that, typically, franchisees do not directly bear the cost of these quality-control programs.

However, there is an exception. If a Mr. Sandless franchisee's performance in these Surveys falls below the minimum standards established by the System, the cost of the Surveys may be charged directly to that franchisee. Any fees charged to the franchisee due to poor survey results will then be contributed back into the Advertising Fund.

This policy creates an incentive for Mr. Sandless franchisees to maintain high standards of service and customer satisfaction. While the Advertising Fund supports general quality control, franchisees are held accountable for their individual performance. This ensures that consistently underperforming locations contribute directly to the cost of their evaluation and potential improvement, while still benefiting the larger advertising pool.
