What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 FDD, Monicals Pizza acknowledges the franchise laws of California, Wisconsin, Maryland, Minnesota, and Indiana within its multi-state addenda.

For California, the addendum emphasizes that all proposed agreements must be delivered with the disclosure document, as mandated by the California Franchise Investment Law. It also highlights the franchisee's rights under the California Corporations Code and Business and Professions Code, which prevent waiving rights under the Franchise Investment Law and Franchise Relations Act, respectively.

For Wisconsin, the addendum states that the Wisconsin Fair Dealership Law supersedes any conflicting terms in the franchise agreement. The addendum for Maryland addresses the Maryland Franchise Registration and Disclosure Law, ensuring it prevails in case of conflicting laws and setting a three-year limit for claims arising under this law. The addendum for Minnesota references the Minnesota Franchise Law, including specific statutes and rules regarding termination notice, liquidated damages, and franchisee rights. Finally, the addendum for Indiana acknowledges the Indiana Deceptive Franchise Practices Law and the Indiana Franchise Disclosure Law, specifically addressing unlawful unilateral termination of a franchise.

Prospective Monicals Pizza franchisees should carefully review the addenda specific to their state to understand how these laws impact their rights and obligations under the franchise agreement. This ensures compliance and awareness of legal protections available in their respective jurisdictions.
