Who is responsible for training employees and other management personnel for a Monicals Pizza franchise?
Monicals_Pizza Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
You are responsible for training your own employees and other management personnel. This initial training is in addition to the on-site opening assistance we provide to you. Your franchised restaurant must at all times be under the day-to-day supervision of a designated manager who has completed our training program to our satisfaction. If you replace your designated manager, your new designated manager must attend our training and complete the program to our satisfaction. A replacement for the designated manager has 60 days to complete approved training. You are not charged any fee to have a new designated manager attend our training program, unless your manager changes are excessive or caused by poor hiring practices. You must pay all travel costs and living expenses for a new designated manager's attendance. (Franchise Agreement, Section 8)

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Monicals Pizza Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for training their own employees and other management personnel. However, Monicals Pizza does provide an initial training program for the franchisee's designated manager, which must be completed to their satisfaction before the restaurant opens. This initial training occurs approximately 12 weeks before the restaurant's projected opening date at Monicals Pizza's headquarters in Bradley, Illinois, or another designated location.
The initial training program aims to cover all material aspects of operating a Monicals Pizza franchise. While the franchisee or their designated manager must attend and complete this initial training, two assistants may also attend at the franchisee's option. Monicals Pizza does not charge for this initial training, but the franchisee is responsible for covering all travel and living expenses for themselves and any attendees.
Furthermore, the franchisee must ensure their restaurant is always supervised by a designated manager who has successfully completed Monicals Pizza's training program. If a manager is replaced, the new manager has 60 days to complete the required training. While there is no fee for this replacement manager training unless manager changes are excessive due to poor hiring practices, the franchisee must cover all travel and living expenses for the new manager's training.
