What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Monicals Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Development Rights granted in the Development Agreement give the developer the right to establish and operate Monicals Pizza restaurants within a specific Development Territory. These rights are granted according to the terms outlined in the Development Agreement.
Specifically, the Development Agreement includes a Development Schedule, which details the number of Monicals Pizza restaurants the developer is expected to open and the dates by which they should begin operations. The agreement also defines the Development Territory, which is the geographic area where the developer has the right to establish these restaurants.
Monicals Pizza, however, retains certain rights within the Development Territory. They can continue to operate existing Monicals Pizza restaurants or allow others to do so. They also reserve the right to establish Monicals Pizza restaurants outside the Development Territory and operate other businesses under different brands, both within and outside the Development Territory. This ensures that while the developer has exclusive rights to expand the Monicals Pizza brand in their territory, the franchisor maintains flexibility in its overall business strategy.
