Each month, you must spend at least 2% of the previous month's gross sales on advertising, promotions and public relations in the local area surrounding the franchised restaurant.
You will pay for your ads and promotions directly, but we will provide you with general marketing guidelines and we will review and approve your advertisements.
We will not spend any funds on advertising your franchised restaurant in your local area. (Franchise Agreement, Section 11.2)

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Monicals Pizza's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Monicals Pizza does provide general marketing guidelines to franchisees for their local advertising. Franchisees are required to spend at least 2% of the previous month's gross sales on local advertising, promotions, and public relations. While franchisees pay for their own ads and promotions, Monicals Pizza will review and approve these advertisements. Monicals Pizza does not allocate any funds to advertising a franchisee's local restaurant.
Monicals Pizza may also develop a System-wide marketing fund, to which franchisees must contribute. The exact percentage of contribution is determined and may be adjusted periodically by Monicals Pizza. Monicals Pizza controls the creative concepts, materials, and media used in advertising, and determines the placement and allocation of advertisements, utilizing print, television, radio, Internet, or other media. There is no guarantee that any franchisee will directly benefit from the marketing fund in proportion to their contribution.
Monicals Pizza also maintains an Internet website, and will include an interior page containing information about a franchisee's restaurant, subject to approval before posting. Franchisees must also adhere to Monicals Pizza's internet usage rules, policies, and requirements. Monicals Pizza retains the sole right to market on the Internet, including the use of websites, domain names, search engines, banner ads, and e-commerce arrangements. Franchisees may be requested to provide content for Monicals Pizza's Internet marketing and must follow intranet and Internet usage rules.
During the first 3 months of operation, Monicals Pizza specifies a minimum amount to be spent on local advertisement and promotion of the initial opening, including print, media, or direct mail advertising. Monicals Pizza will provide guidance for conducting grand opening advertising and will review and approve the materials used. Monicals Pizza also approves forms of advertising materials used for local advertising, grand opening advertising, and cooperative advertising.
