What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Moe's Southwest Grill FDD, franchisees are generally required to maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, and repair of their franchised business, including all equipment. The franchisee is responsible for the repair or replacement of damaged, worn-out, malfunctioning, non-functioning, or obsolete furniture, fixtures, equipment, decor, and signage.

However, franchisees are explicitly prohibited from making any material alterations to the interior or exterior of the franchised business without obtaining prior written consent from Moe's Southwest Grill. This requirement ensures that all locations maintain a consistent brand image and adhere to the franchisor's standards.

This means that while a franchisee is expected to keep the equipment in good working order and replace items as needed, any significant changes or modifications to the equipment or the physical structure of the restaurant require approval from Moe's Southwest Grill. This protects the brand's uniformity and standards across all franchise locations.
