What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Moe's Southwest Grill FDD, Baskin-Robbins became an Affiliated Program through an acquisition in December 2020. This means that Baskin-Robbins is under common control with Moe's Southwest Grill through private equity funds managed by Roark Capital Management, LLC. However, Baskin-Robbins does not operate a Moe's Southwest Grill franchise, nor are they obligated to provide products or services to Moe's Southwest Grill franchisees.

As of December 29, 2024, there were 2,245 franchised Baskin-Robbins restaurants operating in the United States. Of these, 974 were single-branded Baskin-Robbins, two operated at multi-brand locations, and 1,269 were Dunkin' and Baskin-Robbins combo restaurants. Additionally, 5,651 single-branded franchised Baskin-Robbins restaurants were operating internationally and in Puerto Rico.

For a prospective Moe's Southwest Grill franchisee, the affiliation with Baskin-Robbins and other franchise programs under Roark Capital Management's umbrella could present opportunities for cross-promotional activities or shared best practices. However, the FDD explicitly states that affiliated franchisors are not obligated to provide any products or services. Therefore, any potential benefits would likely depend on voluntary collaboration and strategic initiatives coordinated at the parent company level.
