What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Marble Slab Creamery's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to adhere to a specific process for architectural layouts and drawings. Initially, the franchisee must hire an architect approved by Marble Slab Creamery. After hiring an approved architect, the franchisee must first submit the layout to Marble Slab Creamery for their approval.

Once Marble Slab Creamery approves the layout, the franchisee can then direct the approved architect to complete a full set of architectural drawings to be used for construction. These drawings must also be submitted to Marble Slab Creamery for prior approval before they are submitted to the local municipality for permitting.

Finally, once the architectural drawings are approved by Marble Slab Creamery, the franchisee is not allowed to modify the submitted plans without obtaining further consent from Marble Slab Creamery. If a franchisee chooses to use an architect that is not on Marble Slab Creamery's approved vendor list, they will have to pay an Architect Approval fee of $1,500. This fee may be paid either to Marble Slab Creamery or directly to an approved architect designated by Marble Slab Creamery to onboard the franchisee's architect for approval qualification to become an approved vendor. Marble Slab Creamery may also charge a Plan and Design Review fee not to exceed $3,000 if the franchisee uses an architect other than Marble Slab Creamery's approved architect.
