What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Marble Slab Creamery FDD, if the franchisor permits a franchisee to operate a Satellite location, the franchisee must pay a Satellite fee of $15,000 per Satellite location. This fee is due when the franchisee signs the Satellite Addendum.
The Satellite fee is a one-time, lump-sum payment. It is fully earned by Marble Slab Creamery upon payment and is non-refundable. This means that regardless of whether the Satellite location becomes operational or successful, the franchisee will not receive a refund of this initial fee.
This fee is separate from other potential costs associated with opening a Marble Slab Creamery Satellite location, such as kiosk structure, grand opening marketing, architectural fees, furniture, fixtures, equipment, decor, other opening inventory, prepaid rent and security deposit, utility deposits, professional fees, signage, business licenses, permits, point of sale systems, utility work, and insurance. The FDD provides estimates for these additional costs, which can range from $172,850 to $253,811 in total.
