What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Marble Slab Creamery's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must pay a relocation fee of $2,000 if they wish to relocate their restaurant. However, relocation is not guaranteed, as it requires Marble Slab Creamery's prior written consent, which they may grant or withhold at their discretion.
In addition to the relocation fee, Marble Slab Creamery outlines several conditions that a franchisee must meet to be approved for relocation. These conditions include ensuring the new location is satisfactory to Marble Slab Creamery, complying with their current lease requirements, meeting construction and furnishing standards for the new location, and ensuring the relocation does not negatively impact other Marble Slab Creamery restaurants.
Furthermore, the relocated Marble Slab Creamery restaurant must be open and operating within 120 days from the closure of the original restaurant. The franchisee must also be in full compliance with the franchise agreement for the three years leading up to the relocation request and have no existing defaults. Failure to meet any of these requirements, including reopening within the 120-day timeframe, can result in the termination of the franchise agreement, even if relocation approval was initially granted.
