What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Marble Slab Creamery's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must reimburse Marble Slab Creamery for travel expenses, including airfare, hotel, rental car, and a per-diem charge of $100 per person per day, for personnel providing pre-opening and post-opening assistance. Franchisees must also reimburse Marble Slab Creamery for direct and indirect wages and other labor costs and expenses for their personnel. This reimbursement is due on demand.
However, if a franchisee is signing their first Franchise Agreement for their (or their affiliates') first Restaurant, Marble Slab Creamery will bear up to $20,000 of the direct and indirect wages and other labor costs and expenses of their personnel who provide training and other pre-opening and post-opening supervision and assistance.
In simpler terms, Marble Slab Creamery requires franchisees to cover the costs associated with the support staff they send to help set up and launch a new location. This includes travel, daily expenses, and the wages of the Marble Slab Creamery team. The payment is expected when Marble Slab Creamery requests it. There is a benefit for first-time franchisees, where Marble Slab Creamery will cover up to $20,000 of these labor-related costs.
