What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Marble Slab Creamery Franchise Disclosure Document, the Franchise Agreement outlines the possibility of operating a Marble Slab Creamery restaurant co-branded with another food concept. These are referred to as "Co-Brand Stores." The entities that license the other concepts are called "Co-Brand Licensors."
If a franchisee wishes to operate a Co-Brand Store with a Co-Brand Licensor that is not affiliated with Marble Slab Creamery, the franchisee must submit information about the proposed Co-Brand Licensor to Marble Slab Creamery for approval. This includes any existing agreements or proposed agreements with the Co-Brand Licensor. Marble Slab Creamery has the right to withhold approval for any reason, at their sole discretion, and may require the Co-Brand Licensor to be an affiliate of the franchisor.
While the excerpts discuss the concept of co-branding and the need for franchisor approval, they do not include a specific "Co-Brand Addendum." The documents outline the process for seeking approval to co-brand and the franchisor's rights in that process. A prospective franchisee should ask Marble Slab Creamery for a copy of the Co-Brand Addendum to fully understand its terms and conditions.
