What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Marble Slab Creamery FDD, Marble Slab Creamery will provide franchisees with pre-opening and post-opening supervision and assistance. The level of supervision and assistance is determined by Marble Slab Creamery based on the franchisee's opening plan, while also considering scheduling needs and the availability of personnel.
For pre-opening obligations, if a franchisee signs a Multi-Unit Restaurant Agreement, Marble Slab Creamery will specify the development area for multiple restaurants on a "Non-Exclusive" or "Protected Rights" basis. Marble Slab Creamery may continue to sell franchises in a nonexclusive development area. Franchisees must use a real estate broker designated or approved by Marble Slab Creamery to locate the premises and negotiate a lease or purchase. Franchisees must submit a real estate site evaluation package, including demographic information, and obtain a Site Analysis from a vendor designated or approved by Marble Slab Creamery. Marble Slab Creamery will make two trips to the Development Area to evaluate proposed locations at no additional charge, but subsequent trips will be reimbursed by the franchisee for reasonable expenses.
During the operation of the Marble Slab Creamery restaurant, Marble Slab Creamery will provide advice and written materials concerning techniques of managing and operating the restaurant, including new developments and improvements in equipment, food products, packaging, and preparation. Marble Slab Creamery will also provide additional training for the franchisee or their manager, operating partner, assistant managers, shift leaders, or other employees, as well as quarterly training and status meetings. Franchisees or their employees must attend any additional training programs Marble Slab Creamery deems necessary, and the franchisee will reimburse Marble Slab Creamery for the costs of training any new manager, new assistant manager, or shift leader up to a maximum of $500 per week for each individual. Marble Slab Creamery will also conduct inspections of the restaurant and evaluations of the products sold and services rendered.
