What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Marble Slab Creamery FDD, the First Renewal Term is 10 years. The franchise agreement lasts for an initial term of 15 years, and franchisees in good standing have the option to renew their agreement at the end of the term.
To exercise the renewal right, a franchisee must meet certain conditions. These include providing written notice to Marble Slab Creamery at least 6 to 12 months before the end of the current term, completing any required renovations or modernizations to meet the current system standards (unless the restaurant has been refurbished within the last 5 years), not being in material default of any agreements, and satisfying all monetary obligations to Marble Slab Creamery.
In addition to the conditions listed, the franchisee will be required to execute a new franchise agreement, which will be the standard form then offered to prospective Marble Slab Creamery franchisees. The franchisee must also pay a renewal fee equal to 40% of the then-current initial franchise fee.
