What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Marble Slab Creamery's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, relocating a restaurant requires the franchisor's prior written consent, which Marble Slab Creamery may grant or withhold at their discretion. This consent is subject to several conditions.

First, Marble Slab Creamery must find the new location satisfactory. The lease for the new location, if applicable, must comply with Marble Slab Creamery's current requirements. The franchisee must also meet Marble Slab Creamery's current standards for constructing and furnishing the new location. Marble Slab Creamery will assess whether the new location could negatively impact other Marble Slab Creamery restaurants. The relocated restaurant must be operational within 120 days of the original restaurant's closure.

Additionally, the franchisee must have fully complied with all franchise agreement provisions for the three years leading up to the relocation request date, and no default events can be in effect at the time of the request. Finally, the franchisee must pay a relocation fee of $2,000. Failure to meet any of these relocation requirements, including reopening within 120 days, gives Marble Slab Creamery the right to terminate the franchise agreement, even if relocation approval was initially granted.
