What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Marble Slab Creamery FDD, Marble Slab Creamery does not compensate public figures for promoting their individual stores or the brand in general. The FDD specifies that while some franchisees may be public figures who promote their stores, they do not receive any compensation from Marble Slab Creamery for these promotional activities.
This policy means that if a franchisee happens to be a public figure, any promotional activities they undertake for their Marble Slab Creamery franchise are done on their own initiative and without direct financial incentive from the franchisor. This is a notable point for prospective franchisees who may have connections or be public figures themselves, as they cannot expect direct compensation from Marble Slab Creamery for leveraging their status to promote their franchise.
This approach is not uncommon in the franchise industry, where marketing and advertising efforts are often managed separately through a marketing fund or are the responsibility of individual franchisees. Marble Slab Creamery maintains control over its marketing programs and allocates funds at its discretion, as detailed in Item 22, without guaranteeing proportional benefits to each franchisee. Therefore, while a franchisee's celebrity status might boost local store awareness, Marble Slab Creamery does not provide specific compensation for such efforts.
