What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Management Recruiters' 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee transfers their franchise, the transfer fee is due at the time of the transfer. However, the transfer fee is waived if the transfer is to a family member of the franchisee. If the agreement is entered into as a result of a transfer, the franchisee will pay a Jump Start Fee in place of the initial franchise fee. This Jump Start Fee covers the costs of training and other onboarding expenses.

This means that a Management Recruiters franchisee needs to be prepared to pay the transfer fee at the moment the transfer is finalized, unless the transfer is to a family member. This could impact the timing of the transfer, as the franchisee will need to ensure they have the funds available. The waiver for family members could be a significant benefit for those looking to pass the business on to their children or other relatives.

It is important to note that the FDD does not specify the exact amount of the transfer fee. Prospective franchisees should confirm the current transfer fee amount with Management Recruiters to fully understand the financial implications of a future transfer. Understanding all transfer-related costs is crucial for financial planning and decision-making related to the franchise.
