What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Management Recruiters' 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Management Recruiters has no obligation to ensure that expenditures from the Marketing and Public Relations Fund (MPRF) are equivalent or proportionate to a franchisee's contribution. The FDD clearly states that Management Recruiters has no obligation to make expenditures that are equivalent or proportionate to a franchisee's contribution to the MPRF. Furthermore, Management Recruiters is not obligated to ensure that a franchisee benefits directly or on a pro rata basis from the advertising produced or placed using the MPRF.

This means that while franchisees are required to contribute 0.5% of their monthly Gross Funds to the MPRF, there is no guarantee that the funds will be spent in a way that directly benefits their specific franchise location or territory. Management Recruiters also has no obligation to spend any amount on advertising in a franchisee's specific area.

This arrangement is fairly common in franchising, where marketing funds are often used for broader brand-building activities that may not have an immediate or measurable impact on individual franchisees. However, it's important for prospective franchisees to understand that their contributions to the MPRF may not directly translate into local advertising or marketing support. Franchisees do have the option to develop their own advertising materials at their own cost, but Management Recruiters does not require any specific amount to be spent on local advertising. Franchisees may request an unaudited accounting of the MPRF by contacting MRI's Finance Department.
