This section provides the meaning of specific terms used throughout the agreement. Understanding these definitions is crucial for a franchisee to fully grasp their rights, responsibilities, and obligations under the franchise agreement.

For example, the Franchise Agreement defines terms such as "Annual Conference," "Authorized Location," and "Authorizing Documents." Each of these terms has a specific meaning within the context of the agreement, and these definitions help to avoid ambiguity or misinterpretation. The definitions also reference other sections of the agreement, such as the definition of "Brand Cooperative Advertising Fund" which refers to Section 5(A) of the agreement, and the definition of "Brand Cooperative Advertising Fund Fee" which refers to Section 4(C) of the agreement.

Prospective franchisees should carefully review all definitions in Section 1 to ensure they have a clear understanding of the terms used in the Franchise Agreement. This will help them make informed decisions and avoid potential disputes with Lees Famous Recipe during the term of the franchise.
