Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Prior to executing the lease for the Restaurant (if you are leasing the Restaurant premises), you must submit to us a copy of the lease for examination and approval. We will review the lease to ensure that it contains the terms that we require in all leases. We will give you written notice of our approval or rejection of the proposed lease within 30 days after receiving all required materials from you. You and your landlord must also execute a lease addendum in the form that we prescribe (see Exhibit C of the Franchise Agreement).

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Lees Famous Recipe's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, before a franchisee can execute a lease for their restaurant premises, they must first submit a copy of the lease to Lees Famous Recipe for examination and approval. Lees Famous Recipe will then review the lease to ensure it contains all the terms they require in their leases.

Lees Famous Recipe will provide written notice of approval or rejection of the proposed lease within 30 days after receiving all the required materials from the franchisee. Additionally, the franchisee and their landlord are required to execute a lease addendum in the form prescribed by Lees Famous Recipe, which is detailed in Exhibit C of the Franchise Agreement.

This process ensures that the lease agreement aligns with Lees Famous Recipe's standards and protects their interests. It is a common practice in franchising to maintain uniformity and control over location-related agreements. Franchisees should carefully review Exhibit C of the Franchise Agreement to understand the specific terms required in the lease addendum and factor in the 30-day review period when planning their restaurant opening timeline.
