What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Ledgers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, there are no contractual limitations regarding the frequency or costs of required computer system upgrades or updates. Ledgers requires franchisees to maintain their computer systems in good working order and to replace, update, or upgrade their hardware systems as required. The estimated annual cost for maintaining, updating, upgrading, or supporting computer systems is approximately $1,000.
Ledgers specifies the computer hardware and software that franchisees must use. Currently, this includes 2-5 desktop computers and monitors, at least one printer/scanner/copier, and a dedicated server, with an estimated cost of $2,500 - $4,000. Franchisees will also need to subscribe to specified software, such as Loyalty Accounting System powered by Intuit ($30/month), Dext ($30/month), and Financial Cents ($212.40/month).
Ledgers also requires franchisees to provide unrestricted and independent electronic access to their computer systems and information, including customer, transaction, and operational data, as well as security camera systems. This access allows Ledgers to review the franchisee's business operations and obtain electronic business records. If Ledgers requests copies of any business records as part of a business review, the franchisee must send these records at their own expense within five business days.
