What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Ledgers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Ledgers retains significant control over digital marketing activities related to your franchised business. Ledgers may create and operate websites, social media accounts, digital advertising, and other digital marketing means to promote the brand and franchise opportunities.
Specifically, Ledgers has the sole right to control all aspects of any digital marketing related to your Franchised Business. This includes negotiating contracts with vendors like Google AdWords. If a franchisee chooses to participate in these digital marketing programs, they must pay their pro-rata share, either directly to the vendor or by reimbursing Ledgers if Ledgers is paying the vendor.
While franchisees must adhere to Ledgers' standards for advertising, they are allowed to use their own advertising materials if they submit them to Ledgers, the materials conform to the Manual, adhere to all applicable laws, and receive written approval from Ledgers. If written approval is not received within fourteen (14) days of Ledgers receiving the request, the material is deemed disapproved. Franchisees are also not allowed to have an independent website or use any domain name for their Franchised Business without first obtaining written approval from Ledgers. Any social media used to promote the Franchise Business must also be in accordance with Ledgers' Manual.
