What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Ledgers's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee wants to use their own advertising materials, they must first submit the materials to Ledgers for written approval. The advertising materials must also adhere to all federal, state, and local laws. If the franchisee does not receive written approval from Ledgers within 14 days from the date Ledgers receives the material, the advertising material is considered disapproved.
This requirement ensures that all advertising by Ledgers franchisees aligns with the brand's image and complies with legal standards. It also gives Ledgers control over the marketing messages associated with its brand. The franchisee bears the responsibility of ensuring their advertising complies with all applicable laws, which may require them to consult with legal counsel.
It is important to note that Ledgers also provides franchisees with templates for fliers, coupons, and other print materials. This can be a helpful resource for franchisees who prefer to use pre-approved marketing materials. However, franchisees are not allowed to have an independent website or use any domain name for their franchised business without first obtaining written approval from Ledgers.
