What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Ledgers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must use advertising material from Ledgers, a vendor that Ledgers designates, or receive written approval from Ledgers before using their own advertising materials. To seek approval, franchisees must submit their request to Ledgers' operations department, which typically responds within five days.

This approval process is directly related to the advertising fee, which is detailed in Item 6. Franchisees are required to pay an advertising fee of 3% of the previous month’s gross revenues. This fee supports Ledgers' advertising program.

Ledgers is also an approved supplier of advertising material. However, Ledgers is not the only approved supplier. This means that while franchisees must adhere to Ledgers' advertising standards and approval process, they have some flexibility in where they source their advertising materials, provided they meet Ledgers' requirements.

If a franchisee wishes to use a nonapproved vendor, they must submit the vendor for approval, which costs $100/hour plus Ledgers' costs to evaluate the alternative supplier. Ledgers will make a decision within 30 days of receiving the request and will inform the franchisee of their decision via email.
