Advertising Council. We intend to establish a Franchisee Advisory Council ("FAC") composed of franchisees that advises us on operational and advertising policy. We select the members. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Ledgers Franchise Disclosure Document, Ledgers retains full authority over the Franchisee Advisory Council (FAC). Ledgers explicitly states that it has the power to form, change, or dissolve the advertising council.
This means that while the FAC is intended to advise Ledgers on operational and advertising policy, the franchisor is not bound by the FAC's advice. Ledgers selects the members of the FAC, further emphasizing its control over the council's composition and direction.
For a prospective franchisee, this indicates that Ledgers ultimately makes all decisions regarding advertising and operational policies. While franchisee input is gathered through the FAC, Ledgers maintains the right to disregard this input and act according to its own discretion. This is a common arrangement in franchising, where the franchisor typically retains control over brand standards and marketing strategies.
