What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Ledgers's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for the expenses incurred when updating or replacing supplies to reflect changes to Ledgers's Marks. Ledgers retains the right to update, change, replace, modify, or add to its Marks.

This means that if Ledgers decides to refresh its brand by changing its logos, slogans, or other identifying marks, the franchisee will bear the cost of updating all branded materials. This includes items such as stationery, signage, marketing collateral, and any other supplies that display the old Marks. The franchisee must make these updates within the timeframe specified by Ledgers at the time of the change.

This requirement is fairly standard in franchising, as it ensures brand consistency across all franchise locations. However, it's important for a prospective Ledgers franchisee to consider the potential costs associated with rebranding when evaluating the investment. These costs can vary depending on the extent of the changes and the amount of branded materials that need to be updated. Franchisees should inquire about how often Ledgers has updated their branding in the past and how often they anticipate doing so in the future to get a sense of the potential financial impact.
