If a Ledgers franchisee wants to use their own advertising materials, what is the first step they must take?
Ledgers Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
You must use our advertising templates or, if you wish to use your own advertising materials, you may do so if:
-
- you submit them to us;
-
- they conform to the Manual;
-
- they adhere to federal, state and local law; and
-
- we approve them, in writing. If our written approval is not received within fourteen (14) days that we receive the request, then the material is deemed disapproved.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Ledgers's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee wishes to use their own advertising materials, the first step is to submit them to Ledgers. After submitting the materials, they must conform to the Ledgers manual, adhere to federal, state, and local laws, and receive written approval from Ledgers.
If written approval is not received within fourteen (14) days of Ledgers receiving the request, the advertising material is considered disapproved. This means a franchisee cannot use the advertising material.
This requirement allows Ledgers to maintain brand consistency and ensure that all advertising aligns with their standards and legal requirements. It is a common practice in franchising to control advertising to protect the brand's image and reputation. Franchisees should factor in this approval process when planning their advertising campaigns to avoid delays.
