What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Ledgers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, any suggestions, enhancement requests, recommendations, or other feedback provided by a franchisee or anyone else may be incorporated into their franchise system. However, Ledgers retains sole and exclusive rights and title to such suggestions.

This means that if a Ledgers franchisee comes up with a new marketing strategy, operational improvement, or any other enhancement to the franchise system, Ledgers has the right to use it without providing any compensation or recognition to the franchisee. The franchisee essentially gives up all rights to their ideas when they become a part of the Ledgers system.

This is a fairly standard practice in franchising. Franchisors want to maintain control over their brand and system, and they don't want to be in a position where they have to negotiate with franchisees over the use of their ideas. However, it's important for prospective franchisees to be aware of this provision so they understand that any suggestions they make become the property of Ledgers.
