What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Ledgers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to participate in all promotional programs that Ledgers creates, offers, or advertises. This requirement is outlined within the advertising guidelines in the franchise agreement.
This means that a Ledgers franchisee must actively engage in any promotional activities designed and implemented by the franchisor. This participation is not optional; it's a mandatory aspect of the franchise agreement. The promotional programs are intended to enhance brand recognition and drive business to all franchisees, and Ledgers expects full participation to maximize the effectiveness of these efforts.
Furthermore, franchisees are also obligated to contribute to the advertising fund, which is 3% of the previous month's gross revenues. This fund is used by Ledgers to conduct advertising on behalf of all franchisees. While franchisor-owned outlets are not required to contribute to the advertising fund, they may choose to do so. This mandatory participation in promotional programs and contribution to the advertising fund ensures a unified marketing approach across the Ledgers franchise system.
