What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Ledgers Franchise Disclosure Document, Ledgers authorizes specific state agencies to receive service of process on its behalf within those particular states. Exhibit D of the FDD lists the relevant state agencies authorized to receive service of process.
For example, in California, the State Administrator is the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation at 320 West 4th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013, and 2101 Arena Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95834, with the phone number 1-866-275-2677. The Agent for Service of Process is the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation at 320 West 4th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
Similarly, for Connecticut, the State Administrator and Agent for Service of Process is The Banking Commissioner at The Department of Banking, Securities and Business Investment Division, 260 Constitution Plaza, Hartford, CT 06103-1800, with the Phone Number (860) 240-8299. In Illinois, the Office of Attorney General, Franchise Division at 500 South Second Street, Springfield, IL 62706 (217) 782-4465 serves as both the State Administrator and the Illinois Attorney General for service of process.
In Indiana, the Secretary of State, Securities Division at 302 West Washington Street, Room E-111, Indianapolis, IN 46204 is designated as both the State Administrator and Agent for Service of Process, while in Kentucky, the Kentucky Attorney General at 700 Capitol Avenue, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601-3449, (502) 696-5300 is listed as the State Administrator.
