What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Learningrx's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is exempt from paying a Transfer Fee under specific conditions. A transfer fee is not required if the franchisee transfers their Learningrx center to a corporation in which they are the majority stockholder. This allows the franchisee to incorporate their business without incurring additional fees.
Additionally, a franchisee is exempt from the transfer fee if they transfer the Learningrx center to their child, parent, sibling, or spouse. However, this type of transfer is contingent upon Learningrx's approval. This condition ensures that the new owner meets Learningrx's standards and is capable of maintaining the quality and reputation of the franchise.
In cases where the Learningrx center is transferred to another existing Learningrx franchisee, the standard transfer fee exemption does not apply. Instead, the franchisee who is the transferee must pay a Transfer Fee of $5,000 and a Training and Materials Fee of $6,000.
