What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Learningrx Franchise Disclosure Document, a Standard Franchise is required to spend a minimum of $3,000 per month on local advertising and promotion, or 5% of gross revenues, whichever is greater. This entire amount must be paid to independent third parties, meaning the franchisee cannot fulfill this requirement by paying the franchisor or an affiliated entity.
Failure to meet this local advertising spending requirement could result in Learningrx reducing or eliminating the franchisee's territory, or even terminating the Franchise Agreement. This gives Learningrx significant power to enforce the advertising requirement.
In addition to the local advertising requirement, Learningrx franchisees must also spend up to $3,000 annually on "Boost marketing activities" directed by the franchisor. New Learningrx centers also have to pay for an Initial Marketing Campaign costing between $15,000 and $30,000. These additional marketing expenses increase the overall financial burden on the franchisee.
