What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Learningrx Franchise Disclosure Document, the 'Business' refers to the operation of a Learningrx Training Center. This center provides learning enhancement, cognitive training (also known as brain training), and math and reading training services to a diverse clientele. Learningrx operates under a franchise system that includes trademarks, trade names, service marks, logos, know-how, trade secrets, methods, an Operations Manual, standards, designs, trademark usage methods, copyrightable works, product and service specifications, proprietary software, confidential electronic communications, internet usage methods, marketing programs, and research and development. This comprehensive system is owned and developed by Learningrx and is known as a Learningrx Training Center.
Learningrx also offers proprietary learning and development products like "ThinkRx," "ReadRx," "ComprehendRx," "MathRx," and "LiftOff," with the flexibility to modify or add products at their discretion. Franchisees are required to adhere to Learningrx's standard business operating practices and sign a standard franchise agreement. The company offers franchises to qualified individuals and existing franchisees looking to expand. Additionally, Learningrx provides a Satellite Location Addendum for existing franchisees who meet specific criteria, allowing them to open additional sites. The franchisor retains the right to award or deny a Learningrx franchise to any prospective franchisee.
The Learningrx business model is a hybrid, offering both in-person and remote services to clients. This allows each Learningrx Training Center to operate completely remotely if local government regulations require shelter-in-place orders or shutdowns. The Center's services are targeted to the general public, but franchisees should expect competition from other franchised operations, national chains, and independently owned companies offering similar services. The market for reading and learning services is competitive, and franchisees must comply with various federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including those related to employment, health and safety, workers' compensation, insurance, and licensing.
Prospective Learningrx franchisees should be aware of the legal landscape, which includes laws related to daycare or childcare, potentially requiring licensing, bonding, insurance, and adherence to building codes, safety standards, teacher-to-student ratios, and health requirements. In some areas, franchisees may be subject to regulations similar to those governing schools, including teacher and curricula accreditation. Franchisees are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations and should research these requirements before investing in a Learningrx franchise.
