What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Kitchen Solvers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the modernization or replacement requirements do not apply if the franchisee's office is located in their home. The FDD specifies that modernization and replacement of the building, premises, trade dress, equipment, and grounds are required only if the franchisee establishes a showroom or their office is outside of their home.

If a Kitchen Solvers franchisee operates their business from home, they are not subject to the mandatory modernization or replacement costs that can reach up to a maximum cumulative amount of $30,000 during the initial term of the Franchise Agreement. This amount does not include expenditures for equipment or leasehold improvements necessary to prepare new product offerings, or the costs for general, continued maintenance and refreshing of the location premises.

However, if a Kitchen Solvers franchisee later decides to establish a showroom or move their office outside of their home, they will then be subject to the modernization and replacement requirements to conform to Kitchen Solvers' standards for similarly situated showrooms and offices. Additionally, any transfer of interest in the Franchise Agreement or renewal is conditioned upon compliance with these modernization requirements, regardless of whether the franchisee operates from home or an outside location at the time of transfer or renewal.
