What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Kitchen Solvers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees face certain restrictions regarding involvement with competitive businesses both during and after the franchise agreement. Specifically, for a period of two years following the expiration or termination of the agreement, a Kitchen Solvers franchisee (including their owners, officers, and agents) is prohibited from participating in any capacity (owner, director, partner, officer, franchisee, employee, consultant, advisor, salesperson, distributor, or agent) within a Competitive Business.
This post-term non-compete restriction applies within specific geographic boundaries. These boundaries include the franchisee's Development Area, any area within a 25-mile radius of the Development Area, any other Kitchen Solvers franchisee's territory or area developer's development area, and any area within a 25-mile radius of another franchisee's territory or another area developer's development area.
The term "Competitive Business" is defined broadly as any kitchen and/or bathroom remodeling business, cabinet refacing business, or any business selling similar products and services to those offered by Kitchen Solvers. It also includes businesses that franchise or license the right to operate a business of the same type. This means a former Kitchen Solvers franchisee is restricted from advising or working for a wide range of businesses that could be considered competitive within the specified geographic area for two years after the franchise agreement ends.
