Considering the Kitchen Solvers training provided in Item 11, what are the franchisee's obligations regarding attending and completing that training, as potentially outlined in Item 9?

ty. Your principal owners must be those persons who are actively involved in the Business and the principal owners must be Personal Guarantors and sign an undertaking and guarantee in accordance with Subparagraph 16.F of this Agreement.
- B. Training. You must, at your expense for room, board and travel, attend and successfully complete our KITCHEN SOLVERS Pre-Opening Training Program at a place we designate. You may not begin operating your Business until you successfully complete the KITCHEN SOLVERS Pre-Opening Training Program. In the event that you are given notice of default as set forth in Subparagraph 11.A and the default relates, in whole or in part, to your failure to meet any operational standards, we may require as a condition of curing the default that you again attend and successfully complete any additional training we deem appropriate, at a place we designate, and at your expense. If you desire to operate your Business with a manager other than you, then in addition to you, such manager must attend and successfully complete our Pre-Opening Training Program, at your expense, prior to undertaking such operations.
If you request and if we agree, we will provide you in-field training at our then current rate for this training.
We will provide any additional ongoing support training as we determine necessary.
- C. Staffing. You must hire and supervise efficient, competent, and courteous persons as your employees for the operation of your Business and set and pay their wages, commissions and incentives with no liability on us. No employee of yours will be deemed to be an employee of us for any purpose whatsoever.
- D. Annual Convention and Other Meetings. You are required to attend, at your expense, the annual Kitchen Solvers convention, and we may require you to pay our then-current registration fee. If you fail to attend the annual Kitchen Solvers convention, then you must pay us a fee equal to $850, unless you have obtained our prior written approval not to attend. We also strongly recommend that you, at your expense, attend all other conferences, seminars or meetings that we sponsor for KITCHEN SOLVERS franchisees to set forth new methods and programs for operation, training, management, sales or marketing.
What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Kitchen Solvers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must attend and successfully complete the Kitchen Solvers Pre-Opening Training Program at their own expense for room, board, and travel. Franchisees cannot begin operating their Kitchen Solvers business until they have successfully completed this pre-opening training. If a franchisee receives a notice of default for failing to meet operational standards, Kitchen Solvers may require them to attend and successfully complete additional training at the franchisee's expense as a condition of curing the default.
If a franchisee intends to operate the Kitchen Solvers business with a manager other than themselves, that manager must also attend and successfully complete the Pre-Opening Training Program at the franchisee's expense before undertaking operations. Kitchen Solvers may also require new installers hired during the franchise term to complete one day of training before they start working. The franchisee is responsible for the installer's salary, benefits, travel costs, and a daily fee of $350 plus expenses for the training.
Kitchen Solvers may sponsor at least one convention per year, which franchisees are required to attend. Franchisees are responsible for travel, lodging, and related costs for themselves and anyone associated with them who attends. If a franchisee does not attend the convention and does not obtain prior approval for non-attendance, they must pay Kitchen Solvers a fee of $850. Kitchen Solvers may also require franchisees to attend additional training and reserves the right to charge a fee for this training, currently $350 per day plus expenses.
