What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Kidokinetics's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may be required to participate in additional training programs. Kidokinetics may offer both mandatory and optional additional training programs from time to time. If Kidokinetics requires it, the franchisee, their principals, and the manager must participate in refresher training for up to five days per year at a location that Kidokinetics designates.
The franchisee is responsible for all expenses associated with additional training, including the training fee (currently $500 per person per day), travel, lodging, meals, and wages. Failure to attend or complete mandatory additional training by the franchisee, their principal, or the manager, or failure to attend Kidokinetics's national business meeting or annual convention, constitutes a default under the Franchise Agreement.
Kidokinetics also reserves the right to require the franchisee to attend a national business meeting or annual convention for up to three days per year at a location it designates. The franchisee must pay a registration fee for each national business meeting or annual convention, regardless of whether they actually attend. These stipulations mean that franchisees need to budget not only for the direct costs of training and meetings but also for the potential penalties of non-compliance, which could include being in default of their agreement.
