What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Kidokinetics's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must purchase or lease certain furniture, fixtures, and equipment to start their business. This includes standard office furniture like a desk, chair, filing cabinet, and shelving. A workspace equipped with a computer workstation, printer, fax, and scanner is also required. The estimated cost for the computer system is between $500 and $1,500.
In addition to office equipment, Kidokinetics franchisees must purchase an initial inventory of play equipment. This inventory includes a variety of items such as balls, fitness dice, lacrosse sets, polyspots, juggling scarves, Little Tikes golf clubs, mini basketball hoops, baseball bases and bats, T-ball sets, bowling sets, tunnels, ropes, footballs, bean bags, Frisbees, plastic cones, jump ropes, potato sacks, egg and spoon sets, hula hoops, nets and goals, volleyballs, parachutes, hockey pucks and sticks, badminton sets, and tennis racquets.
A suitable vehicle capable of transporting the play equipment is also necessary. Franchisees can use a vehicle they already own, or they may need to lease one, such as an SUV or equivalent. Furthermore, franchisees must purchase general office supplies, including stationery and business cards. The cost of the play equipment and office supplies can vary based on factors like manufacturer discounts and local market conditions. It is important to inquire about the return and refund policies of suppliers before making purchases, as the FDD notes that refundability is not guaranteed.
