What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Kidokinetics's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for the expense of maintaining Kidokinetics standards. The franchisee, at their own expense, must make additions, alterations, repairs, refurbishing, and replacements to comply with Kidokinetics's standards. This includes periodic repairs or replacement of worn or impaired supplies, equipment, vehicles, and signage as directed by Kidokinetics.
This means a prospective Kidokinetics franchisee should be prepared to cover all costs associated with keeping their business location and equipment up to the standards set by Kidokinetics. These costs can include not only regular maintenance but also unexpected repairs or replacements of essential items like vehicles or signage. The franchisee is expected to maintain the Kidokinetics business and location to the standards of sanitation, repair, and condition required by Kidokinetics, as specified in the Franchise Operations Manual and other written directives.
Kidokinetics also reserves the right to require the franchisee to wrap the vehicle used in connection with the operation of the franchised business in accordance with Kidokinetics's designated specifications, again at the franchisee's sole cost and expense. Furthermore, the franchisee is responsible for any and all upgrades to equipment, machinery, and tools, including software and computer hardware, as Kidokinetics requires in its sole and absolute discretion. This could potentially involve significant and unanticipated expenses for the franchisee.
Franchisees must also operate the Kidokinetics business in good condition and repair and in a proper and businesslike manner, using their best efforts to maintain the Kidokinetics business in accordance with current System standards, the Franchise Operations Manual and all other directives and requirements of Kidokinetics, as they may be amended from time to time, and do such repairing, refurbishing and restoration as from time to time may be reasonably required to meet System standards and Kidokinetics's requirements as they may be modified from time to time.
