What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Kidokinetics's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to provide usernames and passwords for services used in the operation of their Kidokinetics business. This includes access to social media accounts and QuickBooks. However, the agreement explicitly states that this requirement does not extend to passwords for online banking or other financial accounts. This distinction is important for franchisees to understand the scope of access the franchisor may request.
This policy protects the franchisee's sensitive financial information while allowing Kidokinetics to monitor and manage aspects of the business's online presence and accounting practices. By specifically excluding online banking and financial accounts, the agreement aims to balance the franchisor's need for oversight with the franchisee's right to privacy and control over their financial assets.
For a prospective Kidokinetics franchisee, this means they will need to grant access to business-related online platforms but can maintain control over their financial accounts. This is a common practice in franchising, where franchisors often require access to certain systems to ensure brand consistency and operational standards, but franchisees retain control over their finances.
