What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Kidokinetics's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Franchise Disclosure Questionnaire is not to be used for any franchise sale in or to residents of California. This means that if you are a resident of California or plan to operate a Kidokinetics franchise in California, you will not be required to complete the standard Franchise Disclosure Questionnaire included in the FDD.
This exclusion likely stems from specific franchise laws and regulations in California that may require different or additional disclosures and procedures. California has a Franchise Investment Law, and the FDD mentions that it requires a copy of all proposed agreements relating to the sale of the Franchise be delivered together with the FDD 14 days prior to execution of the agreement.
Instead of the standard questionnaire, Kidokinetics may provide California franchisees with a state-specific addendum or a modified questionnaire that complies with California law. Prospective franchisees should carefully review all documents provided by Kidokinetics and consult with a legal professional to ensure full compliance with California franchise regulations.
